Therapy Area
Bone degradation diseases including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and skeletal metastases.
|
|
In phase
Phase I studies performed during the year and reported in December 2007. |
Competitive edge
Cathepsin K inhibitor markedly decrease degradation of bone without effecting bone formation, which is expected to lead to improved quality (i.e. the strength) of the skeleton. Rapid onset and offset of inhibitory activity on bone resorption is a marked advantage over current commonly prescribed pharmaceuticals. |
Project data
- MIV-701 has in clinical phase I studies shown to be safe and well tolerated and when administered once daily provide a significant reduction of bone resorption, as measured by biomarkers.
